Quarterly Superannuation Reporting (QSR), introduced in July
last year, is now set to be abolished from 1 January 2005.
Under the Tax Laws Amendment (Superannuation Reporting) Bill
2004, employers will no longer be required to provide employees
with the quarterly report that details the contributions paid
to their superannuation fund.

Throughout September/October, Attaché has been hosting
seminars for Attaché consultants throughout Australia
and New Zealand. As well as providing a forum for discussing
the future development of the software, the seminars focus
on how consultants can better serve the needs of Attaché users.
With over 130 new features added to Business Partner and Attaché Catapult
in the past two years, the seminars also give consultants the
opportunity to improve their knowledge of the new features
and, particularly, their understanding of how these features
can improve business processes for Attaché users.

After similar reports
earlier in the year, news that a particular payroll package
incorrectly calculates superannuation has again emerged, culminating
in an announcement
on the ATO website regarding the defect.
Attaché can confirm that Attaché Payroll is
not the faulty software and that the ATO has verified that
our
software correctly calculates superannuation.
